If you're unfamiliar with oden, it’s a beloved Japanese winter dish known for its comforting, warm flavors. At Kisetsu Ryori・oden Kuroyuri, the oden takes center stage. You’ll find an array of ingredients simmered to perfection in a savory dashi-based broth, creating a deeply satisfying experience. The best part? The variety on offer! The menu is a celebration of seasonal ingredients. With each season, the dishes change, ensuring that the ingredients are at their freshest. This attention to detail elevates every meal. On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their signature oden set, where each ingredient tasted as though it had been carefully selected and cooked with intention. The tender daikon soaked up the savory broth, while the fish cakes offered a delightful bite. Paired with a side of pickles and a hot bowl of rice, it was the perfect balance of flavors.

  • This restaurant welcomes locals and tourists alike. Good service and atmosphere. If I had to nitpick, I would say the food presentation could be a bit better. They piled up all the oden items on one large singular plate for a party of five and didn’t put in any effort to make it look nice. It was literally a “pile” of stuff on a plate.

  • When we went there were no lines - we ordered oden and some other items. The soup base was quite average, good was ok but we felt it’s overrated

  • I had the best meal experience so far in Kanazawa here. We, a group of two adults and two kids, arrived at 14:30 and took a numbered ticket to be called. Most seats are counter-seat, so we had to wait around 30 minutes for the four-seat table. While waiting, the male staff kept calling the numbered tickets one by one to make sure everyone was present. We were then guided inside and seated at a table, ordered via a tablet (only Japanese), and the order arrived one by one quickly. Non-alcohol-drinking customers are given 60 minutes of dining time (there's a countdown timer on the tablet); meanwhile, alcohol-drinking ones have 90 minutes. We ordered the recommended menu, which is oden. We ate eggs, potatoes, chikuwa, ebiten, hotate, aburage, konyaku, akamaki, etc. We also had assorted tempura, yasai kakiage set meal, nori chazuke, and yaki onigiri. All was good! Big appreciation for the male staff who kept ensuring we were comfortable and had good meals.

  • They have set lunch or set meal available for you to choose from. They can speak English if they know you are a tourist. Please note 45 mins eating time in the restaurant. Can place an order using the iPad on the table. I have ordered the Oden set and medium rice. Good portion for me and filling.
